Year 6 Reading Assessment – Autumn 2

Brand new for 2024/25 are our bespoke Reading Assessments! These feature high-quality, engaging, relevant texts covering a wide range of genres across the academic year.

The assessments include a purposeful layout to support accessibility and help familiarise children with End-of-Key-Stage assessments.

Alongside a question set that covers a variety of reading content domains is a full mark-scheme.

This Autumn 2 assessment for Year 6 includes a fiction extract, a newspaper article on the Great Fire of London and an autobiographical piece on Sir David Attenborough.

There are 37 questions spread across the three texts for a total of 50 marks.

We recommend that this assessment is used at the end of the half-term, alongside one of our fluency assessments, to give teachers a clear understanding of where their children are working and what next steps to take to support progress.
